After the stellar success of the first edition of National Institute of Technology, Rourkela’s first International Model United Nations Conference, the institute as a whole realized the potential of an event of such grandeur. With the second edition the goal was to solidify the foundation give the event it’s own unique identity.

Visual Style

Being an official event, designs had to maintain a formal look and feel while setting a unique instantly recognizable tone. Keeping in line with the latest design trends, gradients and vector illustrations were used. Posters series were built around a central idea chosen according to the topic to make them more engaging to the viewer.

Typography

Fonts had to be carefully selected to maintain an official tone while being visually fresh and appealing. After some research, we chose “Rajdhani” to represent modern diplomacy in a youthful fashion.

Logomark

Since 2018 was the first year of IMUN, in 2018 we focused on making a strong brand identity using a logomark. Its utility was simple, to be a self explanatory symbol that would generate strong linking between the viewer and the event. This logomark could be used in letterheads, posters, banners and flexes as a unifying element thereby improving brand recall for the forthcoming years.

Poster Series

Multiple poster series were created to enhance engagement and promote the event. The posters were connected through a common story and similar design language. These helped greatly improve the brand recall and perception of the event among the populace.

Event Brochure

The event brochure is an important document used for bagging sponsorship from corporate. Content heavy in nature it needs to capture the true essence of the event in the span of a few pages. The content was efficiently balanced with the right amount of design elements to ensure a strong brand identity while serving its purpose to the fullest.
