Simplifying Credit: Hone
With the modern economy booming to unfathomable heights, the credit system forms the backbone of the current developmental agenda. However, the process of acquirement of credit is still more or less a tedious task. This is a vision of a completely digital process of application of home loans, which forms the major chunk of all credit based schemes available in the market today.
Defining The Key Points
Applications for home loans are usually a pen and paper process. It incorporates mind boggling forms and multiple signatures for verification. The aim of this app is to make “form-filling” a little less straining and a little more pleasurable experience which can be enjoyed in the comfort of home. A major chunk of the customers availing home loans hold an account with more than one bank. In such a scenario, an attempt has been made to find the best policy for the user based on his/her credit preferences.
The Challenge
Applying for loan has traditionally been a very formal process involving a lot of complications. Streamlining everything to fit within the palm of your hands in such a way that going through the process doesn’t make the user stressed was a daunting task.
The entire flow of the traditional pen and paper forms had to be redesigned to create a much more logical and easy to understand form.
Paper and legal documents required for a loan application need to be converted into digital form to make this a truly digital experience. In-app scanning and editing could facilitate an easy transition from files and binders to photos and PDFs.
Finally, an overall tracker over the entire process of application and disbursement of credit could help user have essentially a better sense of control and understanding facilitating improved user interaction and trustability.
Visual Design
The design of the app had to be kept simple with minimum amount of buttons and toggles. It had to focus on what really its job was while offering an aesthetically pleasing experience for the user. The entire design of the app feels familiar and easy to understand, however unique.
Onboarding
Onboarding has been kept short and simple so as to convey the point with minimal words and screens. Isometric illustrations were used to incite interest and awe within the user.
Form
The form, instead of being arranged in a list view, displays one question at a time with a reference to the previous question available if needed. Coupled with the progress bar at the bottom it makes sure the user doesn’t feel stressed out due to the sheer amount of information and thereby doesn’t lose interest.
Review
Continuous review and skip option on each screen provides the user with a holistic view of the complete form, if needed, however, out of sight, if not.
Takeaways
This app is an excellent platform to make credit opportunities more approachable to the common masses. It helps combat the stigma of highly complicated and difficult to comprehend system. It gives the user more control over the entire process through effective focus on his/her convenience and ease of use.
